What does a “second chance” actually look like?
In 2025, it looked like 3,462 tons of material diverted from landfills. It looked like 619 individuals finding stable, meaningful employment. And it looked like a massive 400,000-square-foot retail center in South Baltimore buzzing with over 300,000 transactions.
At Second Chance, our mission has always been anchored in three words: Retrain, Reclaim, and Renew. This past year, thanks to your support, those words took on more life than ever before. We are thrilled to officially release our 2025 Impact Report, a comprehensive look at how your donations, your purchases, and your time are transforming the landscape of Greater Baltimore and beyond.
Here is a small glimpse into what we achieved together this year.

2025 was a landmark year for our physical footprint. We purchased two new buildings to increase our retail space and, more importantly, to provide dedicated areas for our workforce development initiatives. But our work didn’t stay within Baltimore city limits; our deconstruction crews were on the road from Maine to Florida, deconstructing 215 homes and salvaging the history within them.
When you walk through our aisles, you see windows, lighting fixtures, and furniture. But the numbers behind those items tell a story of massive environmental stewardship: We sold enough bricks to stretch across three and a half football fields; we gave a second life to nearly 5,000 windows—more than you’d find on a modern luxury cruise ship; from a full-size basketball hoop donated by Under Armour to the historic grandstand chairs salvaged from the Pimlico race track, we proved that no item is too big or too unique to be reclaimed.
We believe that when Second Chance wins, Baltimore wins. Through our Outbound Donations program, we provided over 5,100 items free of charge to local nonprofits like the Baltimore Furniture Bank and Living Classrooms. We also opened the doors of our Concept House to local organizations, providing a beautiful, reclaimed space for them to gather and celebrate their own missions at no cost.

How many volunteer hours were invested in 2025? (Hint: it’s over 14,000!) Which 13 states did our crews visit? And just how many kitchen cabinet sets did we save from the landfill? The 2025 Impact Report is filled with the data, stories, and “aha!” moments that define our year. We invite you to dive into the full report to see exactly how your support is fueling this engine of renewal.
